Choosing artificial insemination to breed your mare is just one of your choices to be made but what happens when you have to order the semen? The following guidelines have been designed for the client to understand how your order will be handled and what you as the client will be expected to do. To start the procedure firstly, if applicable you must inform your vet so that he/she can carry out a pre-breeding assessment of your mare to insure that artificial insemination with frozen or chilled semen is a viable option. Secondly you are required to complete the order form and return it to World Class Stallions accompanied with full payment PRIOR to dispatch of the semen.

All of our semen is based at a main storage facility in Towcester, Northants in the UK. You will have three chances at getting your mare in foal and should she not be in foal by October 1st of that breeding year , then you will receive 50% of the covering fee back as long as she has been inseminated three times (stallions sale terms and conditions may vary so please confirm prior to purchase) It is important that our office receive the semen order forms in advance of when you plan on breeding so that it can be processed and payment cleared PRIOR to semen being dispatched to the insemination site or veterinary practice. It is also important you ensure your vet has insurance which will cover the storage of your semen as it will no longer be covered by our insurance once it reaches its destination. This is something to be aware of should a flask accidentally run dry of liquid nitrogen or some accident occur rendering the semen useless.

Ordering Frozen Semen

• Orders must be placed before 11am and with at least 24 hrs prior notice for next day delivery. Our distribution service does not operate on a Saturday or Sunday. To avoid semen being held over by the couriers deliveries are made Tuesday- Friday.
• Once semen has been dispatched World Class Stallions cannot take any responsibility. Please insure your vet has insurance once it reaches its destination. This is something to be aware should a flask run accidentally dry of liquid nitrogen or some accident occur rendering the semen useless.
• Delivery will be charged at £60 + VAT for the first two doses and thereafter a subsequent £60 + VAT for the delivery of the third dose. We require notice for delivery of the third dose.
• If you incur any problems at any stage please contact us immediately and we will do all we can to help.

Ordering Chilled semen

• Orders should be made in advance and notification for collection and dispatch of the semen must be placed between 8.30-9.00 am at the latest NO LATER and with at least 24 hrs prior notice for next day delivery. If your order is to be delivered by courier from the continent (not by air) we require at least 48hrs prior notice. This applies to every dose ordered
• Please take into account that for shipping chilled semen a government veterinarian requires up to and over 24hrs notice to complete export papers, they can be prepared up to 10 days in advance.
• Once the semen has been dispatched World Class Stallions Ltd cannot hold any responsibility.
• Be prepared to cover a handling fee charged by the airport cargo department of £25 and they may require a form of Personal Identification.
• Allowance for at least 1 hrs clearance after flight arrival time.
• The client must arrange collection of the chilled semen from the airport.
• A Courier can be arranged to collect your semen from the airport and deliver to your place of insemination. However World Class Stallions will hold no responsibility if this option is chosen and you will be charged for transportation which will also include an extra charge if the courier has to wait for your shipment to clear once at the airport. (These charges can be very considerable).
• Transport charges will be charged as a guide at £140 + VAT per dose flown. Prices vary
• Flight times cannot be guaranteed. Flights can and will be delayed especially through the peak times of the holidays season. We suggest that you check your flight arrival times on Ceefax 440.
• Flights with deliveries can be from 1400 hrs onwards .At peak time’s semen will often land between 1800 hrs and 2100 hrs but it can be later!
• Be aware that your choice of stallion may not be available on the date you require the semen due to unforeseen circumstances. In this situation we can offer an alternative stallion from the same yard(i.e. always have a second choice when ordering), or frozen semen. You may also make a personal choice to allow your mare to miss a cycle.
• Please remember that the majority of studs on the continent close their stud season by the end of August.
• If you incur any problems, at any stage, please contact us immediately and we will do our best to help.
• Please remember that we are dealing with live animals unfortunately sometimes, unexpected problems can and will occur.

Pregnancy Diagnosis

• When your mare achieves a pregnancy – Fantastic! Following October 1st we will issue you with a covering certificate.
• If your mare unfortunately does not receive a pregnancy after three inseminations by October 1st and on return of your insemination certificate by your Vet we will issue

50% refund on the covering fee if you used Frozen Semen.

No Foal Free Return If you used Chilled Semen

• It is the clients responsibility to provide World Class Stallions with a signed veterinary certificate by1st October of that year stating the insemination date of the mare
