Rosario
Rosario particularly stands out against the many popular Rubinstein sons due to his exemplary, spectacular trot as well as his outstanding walk and canter.
Breeding
His sire Rubinstein was vice-champion of his stallion performance test in 1989. The following year he won the I-a
premium in Oldenburg and became federal vice-champion six-year-old dressage horse in Verden. Then in 1992, he began a
subscription for success in the international dressage arena, before passing away and leaving the breeding stage way before
his time in the year 2000. Rubinstein nevertheless, left an everlasting imprint on dressage horse breeding with a tally of 91
approved sons, 110 state premium mares and more than 80 successful advanced class progeny. The dam, state premium mare
Elfenlicht, who presented several successful dressage offspring, is a daughter of the Holstein approval winner Castro, who
analogous to his sire Calypso I advanced to become a multiple hereditary transmitter. Castro initially covered in Holstein before
he was transferred to Oldenburg for several years and was finally stationed in Denmark. The grandam Elfchen III, was mated
with Furore, to give birth to the premium stallion Futur and covered by Furioso II, she produced the successful Intermédiaire
I competition horse Furilur and the ace showjumper Furiano. The earlier generations of the pedigree include stallions with a
high percentage of noble blood such as the Der Löwe xx son Luxus, and the transmitter of performance Steinpilz xx, who left
overriding competition sports horses, especially in Hanover.
Performance
Rosario was premium stallion of the 2001 Oldenburg approval. The following year, he achieved the
highest score of all contenders of the 30-day test in Redefin and in July 2002, won the Oldenburg State Championship in Rastede,
before becoming vice-champion three-year-old stallion in Warendorf. He defended his title of state champion in 2003 and came
third in the finals of the Federal Championship. Then in 2004, he had successes in dressage tests at elementary (L) level, qualified
for the Federal Championship and attained third place in the World Championship of five-year-old dressage horses in Verden.
He was however unable to start in the finals as the result of injury. Overall Rosario has won the Oldenburger County Championship three times in a row, finished third in the final qualification at the young horse world championships behind Florencio and Lord Loxley and has now successfully established himself at S level dressage.
Progeny
Rosario was awarded the I-b main premium for the excellent quality of his first batch of foals on the occasion
of the 2003 Oldenburg Stallion Days. There are already some approved stallions from Rosario’s first crop of foals, such as Rhaposario who received 9.0 for his walk and trot at his stallion test, as well as numerous offspring successful in the riding horse classes. Another approved son, Rosandro out of a Sandro Hit mare left a lasting impression at the 2006 Oldenburger Approvals with his impressive appearance and top quality movements. His son Royal Mirage out of a Silvio mare is a fabulous mover and was sold at the 2006 PSI auction in Ankum for € 320,000.
