Breeding

His sire, the liver chestnut Don Schufro, won the rideability index, with the score of more than 150 points at the stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf. In the meantime, following wins in Prix St.Georges and Intermédiaire I, he has had victories on the international level, in the Grand Prix class i.a., in Aachen, Nörten-Hardenberg, Wiesbaden and Lingen. In 2004, he was Danish vice-champion in dressage under Andreas Helgstrand and qualified for the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. Four of Don Schufro’s sons have been approved to date. The Vechta record auction horse Der Euro became federal champion of the four-year-old mares and geldings in 2003. The damsire Romancier, who has been trained up to Grand Prix level, had a successful breeding debut in Oldenburg before being transferred to Denmark. The thoroughbred Mago xx, who was approved in Holstein, but soon changed over to Denmark, appears in the third generation. Mago xx was a successful international dressage horse up to Grand Prix level and a member of the Danish national dressage team in World Championships and European Championship for a number of years. The Holstein approval winner Lavallo, who had considerable influence on Danish warmblood horse breeding, rounds off the pedigree superbly. The Hanoverian damline also produced the stallion Saphan (private stallion Westphalia, Rhineland, Rhineland-Palatinate-Saar) and the successful international dressage horse Supermax Ravel/ Anne-Grethe Thörnblad (Denmark).

Performance

Don Romantic won the 2002 Danish approval in Herning. Following his successful completion of the stallion performance test in Vilhelmsborg, Don Romantic also won the Danish four-year-old Dressage Championship in 2003.

Progeny

A large number of premium foals resulted from Don Romantic’s first few age classes, including the Vechta auction foal Espanyola (Euro 23,000) and Don Alberti (Euro 30,000). A Don Romantic colt took part in the finals of the German Foal Championship. In Denmark, Sweden, Holland and Germany he had several champion foals. At the elite foal auction in Vechta foal by him was sold for 23.000 and 30.000 Euros. At the Oldenburger licensing in Vechta 2006 his first son got approved.
