Farewell III
A Farewell III colt from his first foal crop took third place at the 2004 German Foal Championship.
Breeding
His sire Fidermark was reserve champion of the North Rhine-Westphalian approval in 1994. In 1995 he won the
performance test of the Warendorf state stallions. In 1996 he was victorious in the „Optimum“ a prize for Westphalian riding
horses in Münster, as well as in the German Federal Championship of four-year-old stallions. In 2000 he qualified for the
Nuremberg Cup („Burg-Pokal“), and after that achieved successes in the Grand Prix class until his untimely demise in 2003.
Fidermark presented more than 30 approved sons, including Fidertanz, the winner of the NRW approval in 2004. His daughter
Fantastica became the NRW champion mare in 2002, and was runner-up at the Federal Mare Show in Neustadt-Dosse in the
category of show-oriented mares in the same year. She is closely related to the brothers Farewell I-IV. The Fidermark son
Fürst Fabio won the Federal Championship of three-year-old mares and geldings in 2002. The dam Riga presented four approved
full-brothers – Farewell I, Farewell II, Farewell III and Farewell IV. The damline, which is of Hanoverian origin, also brought
forth the stallions Florentianer and Maybach, as well as the advanced dressage horse Wenezia (by Worldchamp). The damsire
Rosenkavalier was considered successor to the throne of the Westphalian R line. He heralded in a new age of dressage horse
breeding, above all with his son Rubinstein. The third dam also produced the state premium mare Alexa (by Apart), who is a
full-sister to Farewell III’s grandam, state premium mare Anastasia. Alexa was mated with Rosenkavalier to produce the
approved stallion Rosenquarz (Warendorf state stallion) and the state premium mare Rauna. The latter gave birth to the
Westphalian champion mare Falbala (by Fidermark) and to Roxanne. Roxanne then presented the premium mare Felicia (by
Fidermark), who came eighth in Münster-Handorf in 2004. Accordingly, the Farewell full-brothers have almost the same
bloodline as the champion mare Falbala and Felicia. Apart and Feuerschein I in the earlier generations of the pedigree were
important Warendorf state stallions.
Performance
Farewell III was premiumed at the 2002 North Rhine-Westphalian approval. At his 30 day test in
Vechta he was in the leading group of the test lot, gaining top scores in all parts of the index. At the 2003 Federal Championship
of three-year-old stallions, he became vice-champion under Sandra Kötter. In 2004 Farewell III won the qualification of the
four-year-old stallions, and came fourth in the finals. In 2006 Farewell III became the 6yr old Dressage Bundeschampion.
